Get to know me
I am Daan Plankman, I'm 18 years old and I study at Mediacollege Amsterdam. I am learning to design and build websites with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, and a little of PHP, Laravel and React. I especially enjoy styling websites and shaping their visual design. I am also very interested in how AI can be used in software development.
This portfolio features projects I have worked on and skills I am continuing to develop. The projects i showcase here are the ones I am most proud of and had the most fun of when i was working on them.

Project 01
During my second year at Mediacollege Amsterdam, two clients asked us to build a website for their company, Roomus. Roomus helps students find a suitable roommate by matching them with people who share their preferences. I designed the website with a cozy feel, using white and light brown to make it look warm and welcoming.

Project 02
This was the first larger website I had to build for school. The assignment was to create a webshop with features including dark mode and a shopping cart. Since I find PC hardware very interesting, I chose to make a webshop for PC components.

Project 03
As part of my studies, I had to take an elective and chose Generative AI. For this elective, we had to create a project related to our course using AI. I enjoyed the Bites & Bytes webshop assignment in my first year so much that I wanted to build on it, so I continued developing the Bites & Bytes idea.
